  • Investigate and resolve bugs, broken workflows and usability issues.
  • Build minor features and enhancements from approved requirements.
  • Assist with frontend development, backend functionality, APIs and integrations.
  • Improve responsive layouts, accessibility and interface consistency.
  • Follow established coding standards, architecture and review processes.

Technical support

  • Receive, document, reproduce and troubleshoot client and user issues.
  • Resolve routine support requests and escalate complex or high-impact problems.
  • Provide clear progress updates to clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain troubleshooting guides, support records and technical documentation.
  • Identify and promptly escalate security, privacy and production incidents.

Client onboarding and training

  • Assist with setting up new clients, user accounts, permissions and approved configurations.
  • Support client branding, initial content setup and authorised data imports.
  • Verify client workflows and access before handover.
  • Provide basic platform demonstrations, user training and onboarding assistance.
  • Record client requirements, feedback and outstanding actions.

Testing and release support

  • Test new features and fixes across relevant devices and browsers.
  • Perform regression testing on important user journeys.
  • Write and maintain basic automated tests where appropriate.
  • Prepare release notes, change summaries and handover documentation.
  • Assist with deployments and post-release checks under supervision.
  • Obtain approval before making production, sensitive configuration or client-data changes.

Internal technical operations

  • Help maintain Macmotech’s internal websites, systems and development tools.
  • Assist with technical research, prototypes and workflow improvements.
  • Keep assigned tasks, project records and documentation up to date.
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, designers and business stakeholders.
  • Take on other reasonable technical responsibilities appropriate to the role.

Minimum requirements

  • Foundational software development experience through employment, internships, studies or demonstrable projects.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with React or a comparable frontend framework.
  • Basic understanding of backend development, APIs and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Git, branches, pull requests and code reviews.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systematically and interpret application logs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical people.
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Responsible handling of confidential information, credentials and client data.
  • Willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies and accept technical guidance.

A relevant qualification is advantageous. Candidates with equivalent practical skills and a strong portfolio will also be considered.

Advantageous experience

  • TypeScript and full-stack development.
  • Supporting live applications or SaaS platforms.
  • Client onboarding, user training or technical customer support.
  • Automated testing and deployment pipelines.
  • Authentication, role-based access and multi-client systems.
  • Technical documentation and user-guide preparation.

What success looks like

Reliable support, well-tested improvements, smooth client onboarding, clear communication and accurate documentation. The developer should become increasingly independent while recognising when supervision or escalation is necessary.
